Hilaria Baldwin has voiced her opinion on Andy Cohen's reported hourly rate for babysitters, suggesting the Bravo producer should offer a more substantial payment. Baldwin, speaking exclusively to Page Six at the "Virtual Reali-Tea" Awards, commented on Cohen's admission of paying $30 per hour for childcare.
"I feel like that’s probably standard," Baldwin initially remarked, referencing Cohen's payment for his two children, Ben, 7, and Lucy, 4. However, she quickly added a humorous caveat: "However, she noted that 'Alec is Alec,' implying that her husband, actor Alec Baldwin, offers a more generous salary for their own household help.
"Andy's babysitters, I don't want to cause problems, but come on over," Hilaria joked.
Cohen's pay rate came under scrutiny when he discussed it with Jeff Lewis on "Andy Cohen Live." Lewis described Cohen's rate as "cheap" and stated that he himself pays $37 per hour for his daughter Monroe, 9.
Cohen later defended his pay, telling Page Six that he had confirmed with friends that his rate was comparable. Hilaria and Alec Baldwin, parents to seven children—Carmen, 13, Rafael, 11, Leonardo, 10, Romeo, 8, Eduardo, 6, Lucía, 5, and Ilaria, 4—are known for their large family.
Baldwin, who has previously been approached about joining "The Real Housewives of New York City," described her family as being in an "interesting place" as her children grow older and require less direct supervision. Despite this, she urged Cohen to "to pick it up" regarding his babysitter compensation, directly addressing the camera to say, "Andy, let's talk."
