Heidi Klum, 53, recently posted photos on Instagram from a yacht trip, showcasing her physique in a thong bikini while promoting her new line of crisps. The supermodel revealed that she is embracing a "fuller figure" as a result of menopause, a change encouraged by her husband, Tokio Hotel musician Tom Kaulitz, 36.
"I think with age, we look better when we’re not as skinny," Klum stated. "My husband was the first one who pointed that out. He said, ‘You should eat more; you would look better if you had more meat on your bones.’"
Klum shared that Kaulitz's advice was contrary to typical industry expectations, where women are often encouraged to be thinner. "When I look back at photos, I’m like, ‘He’s right!’ Proportion-wise, I look better bigger," she agreed. Klum also expressed no interest in GLP-1 weight loss drugs like Ozempic, declaring, "I’m not interested at all."
"I’ve gained weight over the years. I’m no longer a size 24 jean," Klum said. She recalled past experiences in photoshoots where she was told she was "too fat" and made to cry by photographers. Klum, who covered Sports Illustrated in 1998, noted that she defied industry expectations early in her career.
Klum also made a rare comment about her ex-husband, Seal, 63, mentioning the criticism he faced regarding his skin condition, lupus. "He has lupus, and quite frankly, I think he looks beautiful," she stated. "You can’t please everyone, and not everyone is going to like what you do, but you have to look in the mirror and be happy with who you are."
During the trip, Klum was seen enjoying pastries, macarons, and crisps. Her daughter, Leni Klum, 22, also shared bikini photos on social media from the holiday. Klum has been married to Kaulitz since 2019. She shares four children with Seal: Henry, 20, Johan, 19, Lou, 16, and Leni, from a previous relationship whom Seal adopted. Klum and Seal were married from 2005 to 2014.
Klum has collaborated with the snack company Funny-Frisch for a range of crisps featuring her image. The limited-edition Chipsfrisch Roast Chicken Style by Heidi Klum is scheduled for release in German stores in August. Marketing Director Vana Knöpfel described the collaboration as "in line with the spirit of the times," with "two strong pop culture brands joining forces."
