Hayden Christensen has offered a rare glimpse into his private life, discussing his 11-year-old daughter, Briar Rose, whom he shares with ex-fiancée Rachel Bilson. The actor spoke about his co-parenting dynamic and his daughter's television preferences during a recent appearance at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event.
Christensen, 45, told MTV UK that he enjoys watching shows with Briar Rose, noting her current favorites are the Disney Channel sitcom "Liv and Maddie" and the Nickelodeon sitcom "Henry Danger." When asked about his own viewing habits, he mentioned that he has recently started watching "The Agency," starring Michael Fassbender.
Briar Rose's first televised appearance was a year ago when she sang "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" with her father during a Chicago Cubs game at Wrigley Field.
Regarding his co-parenting relationship with Bilson, Christensen described it as amicable. "We get along really well," he said in January on the "Let's Be Honest" podcast. "We have been able to keep it very copacetic and nice for [Briar]. We weren't ever married so we figured out our own way, our own path."
Bilson echoed this sentiment, stating, "I'm really close to his family and it's been almost 19 years or something, which is a long time ago. It feels like [water under the bridge]... She is so loved by both of us and that's all you really need to make sure what happens."
Christensen and Bilson, who met while playing love interests in the 2008 film "Jumper," ended their decade-long on-again, off-again relationship in 2017. They also co-starred in "New York, I Love You" and "American Heist."
Christensen is set to reprise his role as Anakin Skywalker in the second season of "Star Wars: Ahsoka," which is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ on January 20, 2027. He described the role as an honor, noting that Anakin continues to guide Ahsoka, challenging her to confront her identity as a Jedi.
