Far-left Twitch streamer Hasan Piker and Michigan Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed on Monday mocked longtime Democrat James Carville's recent remarks about leaving the party.

During a video discussion on Piker's Twitch channel ahead of the Michigan primary, the two addressed what they characterized as a "full-on freakout" within the Democratic Party sparked by Piker's endorsement of El-Sayed and the rise of progressive voices. Carville had previously stated on Fox News that he and Piker "are not going to be in the same political party" and suggested he might be the one to leave.

"Now James Carville is talking about leaving the party," Piker said during the stream. "We got [Pennsylvania Sen.] John Fetterman, James Carville fantasizing about leaving the party. I’m like, you’re sweetening the deal. That was really interesting."

Carville's comments on Fox News' "The Sunday Briefing" suggested that an "overwhelming majority" of Democrats agreed with his stance against Piker's influence.

El-Sayed, in turn, questioned Carville's historical perspective, suggesting the strategist was responsible for shifting the party's direction.

"That was really interesting. Like our party, if you look at what happened with [President Donald] Trump, you had a whole bunch of center-right people realize that they had no home in the party that they destroyed. And then they all came to our party and tried to tell us what our party ought to be. And then you think about like James Carville, I’m like, bro, you architected the complete right-wing ascent to neoliberalism in ’96," El-Sayed stated.

Piker added that "this state is a swing state because of the machinations of the Clinton era of politics."

Earlier, Piker had drawn criticism for past controversial statements, including remarks about 9/11 and Hamas. Despite this, El-Sayed has continued to defend his decision to campaign with Piker.
