Artwork on a Harry Styles concert ticket has ignited controversy due to its imagery, released days before the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks. The back of the ticket for Styles's "Together, Together" tour depicts a yellow vehicle with a figure inside, appearing to fly over the Empire State Building.
Styles, 32, is currently in the midst of a residency at Madison Square Garden in New York City, which began on August 26 and is scheduled to conclude on October 31. Friday marks the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, with numerous commemorative events planned.
Social media reactions on X (formerly Twitter) have been divided, with some users expressing strong disapproval. One commenter called the artwork "diabolical" given the timing, while another stated that the symbolism was inappropriate. "A little bold given its 9/11 week in NYC but the colors are cute!" one user commented. Others found the imagery particularly egregious in conjunction with high ticket prices, with one user noting that "some choices simply need more sensitivity."
Another user emphasized the solemn nature of the event: "Uh…no. Sorry. Nothing funny about 9/11," they wrote. "Not even 25 years later on some Harry Styles ticket artwork that was prob never meant to be taken as a reference and was poorly timed to be used is funny if people immediately link it to that event."
Representatives for Styles have been contacted for further comment. The singer, an alum of One Direction, has been touring globally following the release of his album "Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally." His tour has included stops in London, Mexico City, Amsterdam, and São Paulo, with future concerts scheduled in Australia.
Separately, Styles sent a note to fans on Wednesday announcing plans for additional tour dates in 2027, following his current 2026 tour. He expressed gratitude for the fan reception and his long career in music.
