Harry Styles referenced Taylor Swift's recent wedding at Madison Square Garden during his own concert at the venue on Saturday. Styles, 32, is currently in the midst of his New York residency as part of his Together, Together tour.
While performing, Styles remarked, "We're at Madison Square Garden, home of the world champion New York Knicks... And they also do weddings," according to fan-recorded footage. The comment came after reports that Styles had declined an invitation to Swift and Travis Kelce's July 3 wedding, which took place at the venue. He was reportedly unable to attend due to a prior concert commitment in London.
Swift and Styles dated for a few months between late 2012 and early 2013. Swift has been friends with Styles' fiancée, Zoe Kravitz, for a long time, and Kravitz was in attendance at the wedding. Despite the passage of time since their relationship, Styles and Swift appear to maintain a friendly relationship.
This appearance at Madison Square Garden marked Styles' third concert in his 30-date residency at the venue. Earlier in the week, Styles engaged in lighthearted banter with his audience, jokingly commenting on the smell of the "New York City armpits" as he guided them through a breathing exercise. This jest echoed a similar incident during his Love On Tour in Los Angeles, where he reportedly distributed deodorant to fans.
Styles' residency at the 20,000-capacity Madison Square Garden began on August 26, with performances scheduled for Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays throughout the engagement.
