Comedian Harry Enfield has listed his coastal holiday home in North Cornwall for £2.85 million, potentially netting a substantial profit on the property he purchased two decades ago. The six-bedroom property, known as The Old Granary, is located in St Minver, near Wadebridge, an area noted for its Atlantic breezes and views of the Camel Estuary.
Enfield and his now-estranged wife, Lucy Lyster, originally bought the house for £826,000. The property is situated in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and has served as a holiday let. It features an entrance hall, a spacious sitting room with vaulted ceilings, a log burner, and a south-facing terrace. A footpath leads down to the water's edge, and residents have access to nearby tennis courts.
Enfield has previously expressed his deep connection to the Cornish coast, describing it as a place where he surfs daily in the summer and frequently visits throughout the year. He noted that he has been coming to the nearby surfing destination of Polzeath since 1972. He also humorously recalled losing hair, two wedding rings, and significant time in the surf there.
This sale follows the 2022 divestment of Enfield's former marital home in Notting Hill, west London. That property sold for £10.79 million, representing a profit of nearly £5 million on the £6 million purchase price in 2008. Enfield and Lyster, a children's clothing designer, separated after 23 years of marriage. The couple are known to be friends with Lord David Cameron and his wife, Samantha.
