Harper Beckham is approaching her 15th birthday on Friday, but her parents, David and Victoria Beckham, fear the occasion will be overshadowed by her estrangement from her older brother, Brooklyn. According to a source, Harper is devastated that Brooklyn, 27, has not spoken to her since a family dispute erupted approximately a year ago.
Sources close to the family indicate that Harper, who was once very close to Brooklyn, does not understand why he has stopped communicating with her. "There is nothing worse for Harper than him ignoring her on her birthday," the source stated. "All she wants is to have a relationship with her big brother. It is so horrifying and awful for David and Victoria to see."
For the second consecutive year, it is anticipated that Brooklyn will not send Harper birthday wishes. While other family members continue to show her affection, Harper's hope for reconciliation with Brooklyn remains unfulfilled. "It's not her fault that he is estranged. They've never had a cross word," the source added.
Last year, both Brooklyn and his wife, Nicola Peltz, posted on Instagram to wish Harper a happy birthday, using the same photograph of the three of them. However, it is understood that communication between Brooklyn and Harper ceased prior to the feud that surfaced around David Beckham's 50th birthday celebrations. Brooklyn and Nicola did not attend those events.
Speculation that Brooklyn is avoiding contact with Harper to spare her difficulty has been dismissed by friends of David and Victoria Beckham as an "insulting excuse." Last month, Harper visited Brooklyn and Nicola's home in Beverly Hills alone, shortly after her father received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame nearby. Neither Brooklyn nor Nicola were home, and Harper left a letter.
Following this visit, Harper was photographed by paparazzi, which Brooklyn reportedly interpreted as a deliberate setup by his parents, a claim they vehemently deny.
