Haley Thogmartin, a contestant on "Big Brother 28," has spoken out about a significant conflict with fellow houseguest Angela Murray earlier in the season. Thogmartin, 29, told Page Six that the "blowup" with Murray, 53, was difficult to navigate, particularly witnessing Murray's distress.

The two contestants began the game as allies, but their relationship fractured in week four when Murray betrayed Thogmartin during her Head of Household (HOH) reign by blindsiding another houseguest, Lyric Medeiros. Murray initially lied about her vote before confessing to Thogmartin, which precipitated their argument.

Thogmartin recounted attempting to de-escalate the situation, suggesting a private conversation. "I did try to say, like, 'Can we talk outside real quick?'" Thogmartin said. "And then that didn’t happen."

Despite the intense confrontation, Thogmartin expressed that her primary concern was Murray's emotional state. "Truly I was just really upset that she was upset, because I was really, really close to her. And I just kind of felt all the sadness with it," she explained.

Thogmartin characterized their bond as familial, acknowledging that disagreements are part of close relationships. She emphasized her commitment to preserving their connection, stating, "She was somebody that I was not willing to let go of." The two have since reconciled, and Thogmartin views Murray as someone she will likely remain close with long-term.

Still, the betrayal regarding Medeiros's elimination, a move made by Murray and Dee Valladares against their "Tool Shed" alliance, left Thogmartin disheartened. "In the moment, knowing that this is a game, I knew that there was bound to have some type of situation where a lie occurred or something, but I was so willing to wash it and just move forward because I thought what we had was so strong," Thogmartin reflected. "I was pretty bummed to see that. But again, I was still trying to be a ride or die with them still."

Thogmartin also expressed a desire to mend fences with other houseguests, LaTrice Verrett and Taylor Brown, following their own conflicts within the house. "I hope that we can talk after this," she said. "I think they’re both incredible people."

"Big Brother 28" airs on CBS with episodes available to stream the following day on Paramount+.
