Ten guide dogs, named after songs by musician Taylor Swift, are graduating from their training programs. The Guide Dogs charity named a litter of Golden retriever and Labrador cross puppies born in 2024 in honor of the singer.

Archer, named after a track on Swift's album "Lover," was the first from the litter to qualify. He recently moved to Kent, England, to live with a person with sight loss. Another graduate, Peter, named after a song on "The Tortured Poets Department" album, has been homed with a guide dog owner in Sheffield.

Several other puppies from the litter are named after Swift's songs or characters from them, including Betty, Inez, Marjorie, Clara, James, Tim, and London. Some of these dogs are continuing their training or are currently with volunteer puppy raisers across the United Kingdom.

August, identified as an ideal guide dog mother, has been placed with a breeding dog volunteer in Gloucester. The charity is encouraging public donations and volunteers to help support the program, noting that it costs approximately $77,000 to breed, raise, and train each guide dog, and $25,000 to support each partnership throughout the dog's working life.

Volunteers typically care for the puppies from around eight weeks old until they are ready for formal training, which usually lasts about a year. This process helps socialize the dogs and prepare them for their future roles as assistance animals.
