Actor and comedian Ike Barinholtz, guest hosting "Jimmy Kimmel Live" on Monday, drew attention to a recently released photograph of Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell. The image, shared by McConnell's office, aimed to show the senator recovering after a hospital stay of nearly a month.

Barinholtz expressed skepticism about the photo's recency, suggesting it might not be current. He proposed zooming in on the newspaper McConnell was holding. The enlarged image revealed the headline "Dewey Defeats Truman," a famous reference to the 1948 U.S. presidential election. "No wonder he looks so young," Barinholtz quipped.

McConnell's office had previously issued a statement indicating he sustained an injury from a fall and received treatment for "mild" pneumonia. The statement noted his transfer from a hospital to a rehabilitation facility to aid his recovery.

Shifting to a more serious tone, Barinholtz extended well wishes to the Kentucky senator. "I hope you get the quality health care you fought so hard to deny everyone else. So, thank you. Pulling for you, Mitch," he said.
