A piglet that became a social media sensation after escaping and running through the streets of West Hollywood has found a permanent home with Grammy-winning songwriter Diane Warren.

The black-and-white pig, nicknamed "Wilbur" by online viewers, was adopted on Thursday morning, according to reports. Warren's representative, Marcia Zwilling, confirmed the adoption after Warren saw viral footage of the piglet's Aug. 15 escape.

"Diane saw the news clips and saw the little pig running in West Hollywood and she just called me and said, please get the pig, get the pig," Zwilling told NBC.

Zwilling handled the adoption process and took Wilbur to his new home. The piglet will live at a sanctuary, where he will have access to "gourmet salads every day, beautiful acreage, other friends, other animals," Zwilling stated.

Wilbur first gained attention on a Saturday when he was observed running down Hayworth Avenue while several individuals attempted to capture him. LA Animal Services had indicated that if multiple parties expressed interest in adopting the pig, a silent auction would be held to determine the adopter.

Warren, a known animal advocate, has previously assisted in the relocation of farm animals. In 2021, she helped arrange the move of the last remaining cow from a group of approximately 40 that had escaped from a slaughterhouse in Pico Rivera, California.
