Gisele Bündchen, 46, has shared new insights into her personal life, discussing the experience of becoming a mother in her forties and how her priorities have shifted. In a recent interview with i-D magazine for their Mother Issue, Bündchen spoke about welcoming her third child, a son, with husband Joaquim Valente, 38, at the age of 44.
"Having a baby at this moment of my life is such a gift, because I'm in a different place," Bündchen told the magazine. "I don’t have anything to prove. I don't feel like I really, quite frankly, care." She emphasized that she is not defined by others' opinions and feels empowered to choose how she lives her life. The Brazilian model stated that she now declines approximately 99 percent of job offers to prioritize her family, questioning whether a commitment would mean missing her children's activities like volleyball games or DJing sessions.
Bündchen, who is also mother to Benjamin, 16, and Vivian, 13, from her previous marriage to Tom Brady, 49, noted a significant evolution in her definition of success since her twenties. "This is your temple, this is your life, this is your journey. How do you want it to look? What do you want it to be? Who defines success? What is success?" she pondered. She contrasted the common perceptions of success, such as power and money, with her current view, which values spending time with her children, having a stable home, and enjoying strong relationships as far more successful achievements.
She affectionately described her infant son, whose name has not yet been revealed, recalling a moment where he wanted to help her clean in their frequently damp Miami home. Bündchen welcomed her third child, her first with Valente, in early 2025. The couple privately married in December 2025, three years after her split from Brady.
Bündchen and Valente first met in December 2021 when she and her children began training at his jiu-jitsu academy. Their relationship was confirmed in 2024. She has been seen wearing a gold wedding band on public outings, including a Garnier event in March. In June, she posted a Father's Day tribute to Valente on Instagram, praising him as an incredible role model and thanking him for his unconditional love, wisdom, and support.
Reflecting on motherhood in a previous Instagram post, Bündchen highlighted the responsibility of raising children. "It's so sweet to see how little they are when they start watching and emulating what we do. They're learning from us even when we don't realize it," she wrote. "Moments like this remind me that my actions matter more than what I say, because so much of who they're becoming is shaped by the example they see every day." She concluded, "What a gift and a beautiful responsibility it is to be a mom."
