Warren Hudson, who identified himself as Nolan Wells' 'best friend,' has publicly refuted claims that any content was deleted from Wells' phone before his disappearance and subsequent death. Wells, 18, was found deceased after vanishing during a Fourth of July holiday boating trip with friends off the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
Questions have circulated regarding the events leading up to Wells' death, prompting his family to seek answers. Hudson, in an interview on the YouTube show 'The Officer Tatum,' addressed the speculation about the group accessing and deleting information from Wells' phone during the trip.
"There was no reason for us to get on Nolan’s phone, no one touched Nolan’s phone… If none of us had touched Nolan’s phone then y’know there’s no reason for anything to be deleted," Hudson stated. He added that the phone was not handled by anyone in the group until it was moved from the boat to a truck. Hudson also asserted that none of the friends had access to Wells' phone password, which would prevent them from deleting anything.
"We had no reason to delete anything… There’s nothing to hide here," Hudson said, as reported by the Daily Mail. The Wells family's attorney, Ben Crump, has been contacted for comment regarding Hudson's statements.
Nolan Wells had been on Horn Island with friends to celebrate the Fourth of July holiday when he disappeared. He was later found dead.
