A Fresno after-school tutor has been arrested on suspicion of grooming minors and exchanging child sexual abuse material via the messaging platform Discord. Keebtsim Txhim Christopher Xiong, 26, of Fresno, was taken into custody after an investigation by the state’s task force on internet crimes against children.

The task force, which comprises 68 federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies across nine Central Valley counties, was alerted to Xiong’s alleged inappropriate communications with children. Detectives stated that sexually explicit material was found among his messages.

Xiong, employed as a tutor through the California Teaching Fellows Foundation, also allegedly attempted to arrange a meeting with one of the minors. The foundation, which partners with the Fresno Unified School District to provide tutors and mentors, has placed Xiong on administrative leave.

Xiong has since posted his $100,000 bail. Authorities indicated that additional victims may come forward and are urging anyone with further information to contact the Fresno County Sheriff's Office. A court date for Xiong is pending.
