Daniel Siad, a French modeling scout with connections to Jeffrey Epstein, was found dead in his Paris apartment, authorities confirmed. Prosecutors stated that Siad, 69, died of a heart attack, though an autopsy is pending to confirm the exact cause. His attorney, Menya Arab-Tigrine, suggested that the stress and stigma associated with the ongoing investigation may have contributed to his death.
Siad's name appeared approximately 2,000 times in documents related to the Jeffrey Epstein case released by the Justice Department. Court filings and reported communications indicate Siad's involvement in offering young women to Epstein. In one email exchange, Siad allegedly wrote to Epstein about placing girls from Australia and Croatia in Paris. Another email from April 2009 included images of a 17-year-old Slovakian girl while Siad was scouting models in Bratislava.
Paris prosecutors have stated that at least 24 women have come forward as victims or witnesses in a human trafficking and fraud probe that began in February. These women have alleged acts committed by Siad or others connected to him. Siad's attorney emphasized that he was never prosecuted or formally implicated in any legal proceedings.
The circumstances surrounding Epstein's own death in federal custody in 2019 remain a subject of ongoing scrutiny. Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche stated in July 2026 that the Department of Justice is prepared to prosecute anyone criminally linked to Epstein's trafficking operation, indicating that investigations are ongoing.
