Chelsea Freeman, wife of Los Angeles Dodgers star Freddie Freeman, recently shared photos from a coastal vacation in Malibu, approximately three weeks after experiencing a frightening health scare that led to hospitalization. The 35-year-old mother of four posted images on Instagram over the weekend, captioning them "Golden hour in Malibu."
The public outing followed an emergency hospital visit where Freeman experienced symptoms that led her to believe she might be having a heart attack. She described waking in the middle of the night with sharp chest and back pain while her husband was away on a road trip with the Dodgers.
"It was really scary, especially since Freddie was out of town on the road," she shared via her Instagram Stories, detailing the incident that prompted her to call 911. Doctors discovered elevated troponin levels, prompting a series of cardiac tests, including a heart CT scan, chest X-rays, and an echocardiogram. While pericarditis or myocarditis are suspected causes and further cardiac monitoring is ongoing, Freeman reported feeling "much better."
This recent health concern for Chelsea Freeman comes after the family previously navigated a serious health challenge when their son, Maximus, spent eight days in pediatric intensive care in 2024 due to Guillain-Barre syndrome. Following Maximus's recovery, Freddie Freeman hit a walk-off grand slam in Game 1 of the World Series, ultimately contributing to the Dodgers' championship win. Chelsea Freeman has previously spoken about the profound impact of their son's recovery on their family and Freddie's career.
Freddie Freeman has publicly acknowledged his wife's supportive role throughout his career, noting her presence during both successes and failures. He met Chelsea in 2011, and he has expressed his gratitude for her and her role as a mother and wife, which allows him to focus on baseball.
