Four officers with the Green Bay Police Department were injured Saturday morning when a suspect allegedly drove a vehicle into a crowd of people during a disturbance at a food truck. The incident also led to an officer-fired shot and a police pursuit.

Officers initially responded to the food truck disturbance around 2:15 a.m. local time and were attempting to take individuals into custody when a car accelerated toward bystanders and officers. An officer discharged their firearm in response. The driver then fled the scene, initiating a police chase that concluded when officers employed a PIT maneuver to stop the vehicle.

The driver was taken into custody without further incident. Authorities have stated the suspect is being held on suspicion of operating a vehicle while intoxicated. The injuries sustained by the four officers were not life-threatening, and they received medical treatment. No injuries were reported as a result of the shooting.

Green Bay Police Chief Chris Davis indicated at a later news conference that investigators were still determining if the driver of the vehicle was connected to the initial disturbance near the food truck. Davis also noted that some officers sustained injuries prior to the vehicle driving into the crowd, during the process of attempting to take individuals into custody.

The Brown County Sheriff's Office is assisting the Green Bay Police Department in the investigation of the officer-involved shooting.
