The former head of Britain's largest estate agency, David Livesey, has won his case against Skipton Building Society, securing a ruling for unfair dismissal and age discrimination. Livesey, 67, had worked for Connells, an estate agency acquired by Skipton in 2010, for 33 years.

Livesey sued Skipton, alleging he was forced out of his position approximately three years ago. He had sought a reported £7 million, citing claims of bullying by chief executive Stuart Haire. While an employment tribunal dismissed the bullying allegation, it upheld the discrimination claims.

Further details revealed that Livesey received a payment of just 46 pence for Connells shares that he had purchased for £420,000. In contrast, another director reportedly received over £1.6 million for a smaller shareholding. The tribunal concluded that the less favorable treatment Livesey experienced regarding his shares was not justified. Skipton Building Society has stated it is disappointed with the tribunal's decision.
