Former college basketball standout Kerr Kriisa has been arrested by the FBI in connection with an alleged multimillion-dollar fraud scheme. Kriisa, a 25-year-old native of Estonia, was taken into custody in Lexington, Kentucky, on Friday.

He is currently being extradited to West Virginia to face unspecified accusations related to the scheme. Kriisa was booked into the Fayette County Detention Center following his arrest. The FBI has been contacted for confirmation of the report.

Kriisa's alleged involvement in the scheme is reportedly tied to his time playing at West Virginia University during the 2023-24 season. He played six seasons at four prominent college basketball programs, beginning his career in 2020 at Arizona. During his three seasons with the Wildcats, he reached the NCAA Tournament's Sweet Sixteen.

Following his tenure at Arizona, Kriisa transferred to West Virginia for the 2023-24 season. He briefly considered transferring in June 2023 after the firing of head coach Bob Huggins but ultimately stayed with the team under assistant coach Josh Eilert. In 2024, Kriisa entered the transfer portal again, moving to the University of Kentucky, where his team also reached the Sweet Sixteen. He concluded his college career this past season at the University of Cincinnati.

Kriisa had recently announced his intention to play professionally in Estonia. He was also scheduled to participate in 'The Basketball Tournament' with a Kentucky Alumni team called La Familia. The team has since confirmed that Kriisa will not be competing in the tournament following his arrest.
