Former Duke basketball player Kyle Singler has posted a series of concerning videos on Instagram, directly appealing to his former coach, Mike Krzyzewski, for help. In the posts, Singler, who played for Krzyzewski from 2007 to 2011 and won a national championship with the team, claims he is being "dismissed" by his ex-coach and is in a desperate situation.

"Man, Coach K has set me up," Singler stated in one video, alleging that his power has been cut off, his house has been invaded, his money stolen, and his life ruined. He expressed a feeling of imprisonment and a lack of freedom, stating, "I'm locked in my house and I have no freedom anymore."

Singler, a 38-year-old former NBA player, has shared numerous troubling videos over the past two years, leading to widespread concern about his well-being. In these recent posts, he claims people are trying to kill him and that he is a victim of various crimes. "I can't even live anymore. Can't even say, 'Hey, how's it going?' without confrontation," he said in another video, detailing experiences of being arrested and kicked out of restaurants while in Oklahoma.

He directly addressed Krzyzewski, saying, "I’ve reached out to Coach K and all he did was sit me on the bench." Singler questioned the values taught at Duke and pleaded, "Coach, where you at? Help a brother out. Thought we were on the same team, man."

In the final video, Singler alleged that all his financial accounts are frozen and that he is under surveillance. He stated, "Everyone again is attacking me for green, so have at it well. If anyone can he helpful to understand where we’re at and there are a lot of people attacking people for money, greed…" He expressed disappointment with Krzyzewski's response, calling it "deflective" and "leaving people in the dust."

Concerns about Singler's mental health have been ongoing. In November 2024, he shared videos expressing fear for his life. Previously, he made claims about a "religious war right now across the map." In response to one earlier video, NBA players like Kevin Love and the NBA Players Association offered support.

Singler played six seasons in the NBA from 2012 to 2018 after being drafted in 2011. In October 2024, he was arrested in Oklahoma on suspicion of assaulting his girlfriend. According to a police affidavit, Singler allegedly appeared to have taken drugs, chased his girlfriend and child, and threatened sexual assault before assaulting her. The girlfriend reportedly sustained marks on her face and arms.

Two months after his arrest, Singler posted another video claiming he did not feel safe and that his child was being abused. He also expressed animosity toward Duke and other entities, stating, "F--k, ya'll. Duke, Medford (Ore.), everybody."
