A Florida woman accused of murdering a man found buried in a shallow grave has been arrested after evading authorities for seven weeks. Isabelle Rose Johnson, 38, was taken into custody Thursday in Cottondale, Florida, according to the Walton County Sheriff's Office.
Johnson had been sought since June 25 in connection with the death of Jason Coulthart, 43, whose body was discovered on a Freeport property. Police found Coulthart zip-tied and buried in a grave covered with concrete, with a black Cadillac parked over the site. A witness cited in a police report stated that Johnson killed Coulthart by placing a zip tie around his neck and covered the body with cement to prevent animals from digging it up.
During her apprehension, Johnson was reportedly wearing a T-shirt that read "force to be reckoned with." She is described by authorities as a dangerous individual known for using aliases and enlisting accomplices to evade capture. She also allegedly employed fabricated sob stories to manipulate strangers for favors or money.
Coulthart, a father of a 20-year-old son, was initially reported missing on May 24. The motive for his killing remains unclear, but a witness indicated it may have been related to Coulthart aggravating Johnson or threatening her custody of her children.
Johnson's alleged roommate is reportedly cooperating with investigators and is believed to have assisted in burying Coulthart's body. To date, five other individuals have been arrested on charges of accessory to murder after the fact for allegedly aiding Johnson.
Johnson is expected to be extradited from Jackson County to Walton County for further proceedings.
