Five-star running back David Gabriel Georges announced his commitment to the University of Tennessee on Wednesday, ending a highly anticipated recruitment process. Georges, recognized as the nation's second-ranked running back by ESPN and 247Sports for the 2027 class, selected the Volunteers over fellow powerhouse Ohio State.

His decision came after considering offers from Ole Miss and Georgia earlier in his recruitment. Georges stated that the choice was difficult but ultimately came down to trusting his instincts and choosing the environment where he felt most at home and comfortable pursuing his goals.

Georges, originally from Quebec, Canada, moved to Tennessee before his sophomore year to enhance his opportunities in major college football. He played for the Baylor School in Chattanooga, where he accumulated 2,852 rushing yards and 41 touchdowns over two varsity seasons. His efforts helped lead the team to the state championship game in 2024.

His commitment signifies a significant recruitment win for Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel and running backs coach De’Rail Sims. Georges joins quarterback Faizon Brandon and wide receiver Tristen Keys as highly-ranked recruits to commit to the Volunteers within the last two years. Prior to his announcement, Georges was the last remaining five-star prospect on ESPN's recruiting board.

Should he sign, Georges would represent Tennessee's highest-ranked running back addition since Bryce Brown, who was the No. 2 rusher in the country when he signed in 2009.
