Firerose, the former wife of country music star Billy Ray Cyrus, is navigating her divorce with the support of a close-knit group of celebrity friends, many of whom have publicly shared their own experiences with alleged abuse.

In an exclusive interview, Firerose described her support system, which includes Crystal Harris, Courtney Stodden, and Aubrey O'Day, as crucial to her coping process. "My beautiful friend Crystal Harris... has written her stories so beautifully and eloquently in a way that has helped so many," Firerose said, referring to Harris, who was married to Hugh Hefner. Firerose considers Harris a "sister" with whom she has "bonded over some very difficult things."

During their divorce proceedings, Firerose alleged that Cyrus exhibited "unpredictable and volatile" behavior amounting to "extreme verbal, emotional and psychological abuse," often intensified by his alleged "persistent drug use." Cyrus has reportedly "vehemently denied" these claims.

Firerose also spoke about Courtney Stodden, calling her "another amazing angel," and expressed deep gratitude for Aubrey O'Day, stating she doesn't know where she would be "without" her. "I’m really grateful for every strong badass survivor who’s gone before me, and I’m so honored to be able to call them my dear friends," Firerose stated.

Crystal Harris has spoken about alleged emotional and financial abuse, as well as sexual control by Hugh Hefner. Courtney Stodden has publicly referred to her ex-husband, Doug Hutchison, as a "predator" and "pedophile" due to their age difference when they married, which Hutchison has dismissed as false.

Aubrey O'Day has accused music mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs of "grooming" her and alleged she was raped by him, claims Combs has repeatedly denied. "Our group chat goes off in the most beautiful way. It’s such a supportive, loving connection that we have, and obviously, the tightness of our friendship is accentuated by the fact that we’ve all survived [allegedly abusive relationships in the public eye]," Firerose said of their "Survivor Sisters" text chain.

Firerose, who is estranged from her parents, emphasized the importance of these friendships, stating, "my friends are [my] family" who "show [her] what real love is." She explained that "[p]art of narcissistic abuse is the strategic isolation and the coercive control to separate you from your community and your friends." She noted that many of her friends "witnessed [her] coming back to [herself]" after the split.

Firerose accused Cyrus of narcissistic abuse, which he has denied. She also pointed to their 27-year age gap and his celebrity status as factors contributing to a "massive power imbalance" in their relationship. Cyrus, however, filed for divorce in June 2024, alleging inappropriate marital conduct and fraud, including nearly $100,000 in unauthorized credit card purchases by Firerose. Firerose maintained she had authorization to use the cards and was not given spending limits.

The divorce was finalized in August 2024. While Firerose did not receive alimony, Cyrus agreed to transfer rights to songs they co-wrote. Cyrus has reportedly moved on with actress Elizabeth Hurley. Firerose is focusing on her "healing" through her podcast, "No One Asked Her," and new music.

"You can go through the most difficult things and come out of it, and it doesn’t take away any of the trauma or pain, but you can always choose to alchemize it, better yourself and help others with what you’ve learned," she stated. "And that’s just my mission through my music and my podcast and my social media and everything I do now is with that intention."
