A fire aboard a vacuum train at the Astor Place subway station in Manhattan on Tuesday morning resulted in the hospitalization of 11 individuals, including six Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) workers and five firefighters. The blaze occurred just before 2:15 a.m.

Approximately 141 firefighters and EMS personnel responded to the second-alarm fire at the NoHo station. The FDNY confirmed the incident, and the hospitalized individuals were transported to area hospitals. One MTA worker was evaluated at the scene and declined further treatment.

The fire disrupted subway service, with the No. 4 and No. 6 trains suspended between Grand Central-42nd Street and Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall. The MTA advised commuters to use the M15, M102, or M103 bus routes to navigate delays.
