Filmmaker James Gunn has shared that reality television personality Rick Devens was slated to appear in the upcoming "Superman" sequel before his commitment to "Big Brother 28." Devens, a "Survivor" alum, garnered attention when he referenced Gunn during a recent live episode of "Big Brother."

Gunn responded to the mention on Threads, explaining that Devens had been scheduled for a background appearance in "Man of Tomorrow," the sequel to his "Superman" film. However, Devens had to withdraw from the role after securing a spot on the "Big Brother" cast. Gunn confirmed that Devens' wife and children still attended the filming, even though Devens himself could not.

Devens is currently competing for the $750,000 grand prize on "Big Brother 28." The film "Man of Tomorrow," which will feature David Corenswet reprising his role as Superman, is scheduled for theatrical release on July 9, 2027. Gunn's "Superman" film achieved significant box office success, earning $125 million domestically and surpassing $300 million domestically, making it the first DC film since "The Batman" in 2022 to reach that mark.
