Fergie and Josh Duhamel marked their son Axl Jack's 13th birthday over the weekend, with both parents sharing personal tributes on social media.
The former couple, who finalized their divorce in November 2019, posted a series of photographs chronicling Axl's growth from childhood to his teenage years. Duhamel, 53, expressed his pride in his son's character, writing, "I couldn’t have asked for a more kind, compassionate and thoughtful kid. HAPPY 13th B-DAY AXL JACK!!!"
Fergie, 51, echoed similar sentiments, sharing her emotion at seeing her son become a teenager. "13. Wow, my teenager. I’m saying that with tears in my eyes as I feel like the world is shifting beneath us," she captioned her post. "It’s so beautiful to watch you grow into the kind, silly, and cool dude you are. You are so tough bruh. Happy 13th Axl Jack. I love you."
Duhamel married Audra Mari in September 2022, and they have two younger children, Rocca and Shepherd. One of the images shared by Duhamel showed Axl interacting with one of his younger siblings.
The collection of photos offered glimpses into Axl's interests, including his apparent love for soccer, family outings, and even a school project. The images highlighted the growth of the young teenager, whom Fergie and Duhamel welcomed in 2013.
Earlier this year, Duhamel spoke on The Skinny Confidential Him & Her Podcast about their past relationship, noting that their differing views on family expansion contributed to their separation. He described Fergie as a "great mom, very kind, very non-confrontational" and mentioned that she and his current wife have a positive relationship.
Sources have previously indicated that a key factor in their split was Duhamel's desire for more children, while Fergie was content with one. These differing life paths were reportedly a significant point of divergence in their marriage, although both have maintained a respectful and amicable co-parenting relationship. Fergie has been described as someone who thrives more independently, suggesting that her personal needs for autonomy also played a role in their relationship's conclusion.
