The father of four children found dead in an upstate New York home has described his last conversation with them as a happy one, just days before their discovery. Brady Harmon spoke with Harper Harmon, 13, Hudson Harmon, 11, and twins Gavin and Gracelynn Harmon, both 10, via FaceTime on June 7.

"They seemed like happy little kids," Harmon told The Post. During the roughly 15-minute call, the children showed him their drawings, their cat, and something Gavin had built. Harmon, who lives in Salt Lake City, Utah, had not seen his children since 2019 but had recently been granted 60 days of custody, set to begin July 1. He was preparing to travel to pick them up when police informed him of their deaths.

Mechanicville police found the bodies of the children, their mother Sarah Myers, 44, and their maternal grandmother, Amy Steadman, inside a residence. Investigators believe Steadman may have fatally poisoned them. A handwritten note discovered in Steadman's home "strongly suggests" her involvement, according to Mechanicville Police Chief Bill Rabbitt. Evidence recovered at the scene, including prescription and over-the-counter medications, indicates intentional poisoning. Sources also told Channel 13 that one child was stabbed and that syringes were found, suggesting possible injection.

Harmon expressed his devastation, stating, "time heals all wounds, but this is a gaping hole that will never heal." He intends to bury his children in Utah, away from their mother, citing his responsibility as a parent.

Harmon described Steadman as someone who was not particularly warm during his decade-long relationship with Myers but was a "doting grandma" to the children. Police are awaiting further lab results and investigative findings to release more details.
