Holly Swinburn, ex-girlfriend of TV personality Freddy Brazier, has claimed that the bulldog, Pablo, which attacked Brazier, was mistreated. She is appealing for someone to rehome the dog before a Tuesday deadline, after which it is set to be euthanized.
Brazier, 21, the son of the late Jade Goody and Jeff Brazier, required emergency hospital treatment after Pablo reportedly bit him. The pocket bully breed is currently in police custody.
Swinburn, who shares a daughter, Isla, with Brazier, posted an emotional message online stating that Pablo had been mistreated and attacked to protect himself, describing the dog as "the nicest dog" and the incident as "totally out of character." She did not specify who she believes mistreated the animal. Swinburn stated she could not care for the dog herself while raising a baby.
Earlier, Brazier had shared his distress over the potential loss of Pablo, whom he described as being "like my son." He recounted the attack, which occurred when he went to collect the dog from his grandmother Jackiey Budden's home. Brazier sustained a significant injury to his arm, requiring hours of hospital treatment and stitches.
Jackiey Budden was also reportedly attacked by Pablo. Neighbors had called the police on July 16 after hearing screams as the dog reportedly gripped Budden, leading to her requiring medical attention. Four days later, Pablo attacked again, resulting in injuries to both Freddy Brazier and Jackiey Budden, necessitating hospital treatment for both.
Reports indicate that this was not the first incident involving the dog. Police and the fire brigade attended the scene on July 16 following a neighbor's report of screams. While that incident was not deemed serious enough for criminal charges, the subsequent attack involving Freddy Brazier and Jackiey Budden was more severe.
Despite the attacks, Brazier expressed a desire to keep Pablo, but his grandmother and father are reportedly unwilling to house the dog. Brazier has been unable to see his dog since it was taken into police kennels.
Freddy Brazier and Holly Swinburn reportedly ended their relationship in July of the previous year following a dispute over the dog. Swinburn is said to have attempted to take the dog from Brazier, leading to their separation. The couple welcomed their daughter, Isla Jade Brazier, in March.
