Erika Kirk marked the one-year anniversary of her husband Charlie's assassination by sharing a candid late-night Instagram post reflecting on the "unimaginable" year she has endured. She posted a story showing her walking with their two young children, expressing gratitude for the support she has received.
"To every person who has loved us, prayed for us, and carried our children and me before the Lord, not only today, but every day this past year... From the deepest place in my heart, thank you," Erika wrote. "God, in his mercy, has used so many of you to steady us through the unimaginable. I will never have the words to adequately express what your love and prayers have meant to our family."
She also shared a post from her wedding day, with the caption "... until Heaven." Erika took over as CEO of her husband's organization, Turning Point USA, following his assassination in September 2025.
This year, Erika chose to mark the anniversary privately with her children, family, and close friends, opting out of a memorial event at Utah Valley University, the site where Charlie was killed. A family spokesperson stated she is grateful for the continued prayers and support as they honor Charlie.
Earlier in the week, Erika had attended a speech by President Donald Trump at the Republican convention in Dallas, Texas, where he spoke about Charlie's legacy. Trump recalled the shock felt by many Americans at Charlie's death and expressed condolences, stating, "I just want to say, we love you Charlie."
