England and Manchester United midfielder Ella Toone married her childhood sweetheart Joe Bunney on Wednesday in a ceremony at Colshaw Hall in Cheshire.
Toone, 26, wore a floor-length cowl neck dress with a veil and carried a white bouquet. Bunney, 32, a former non-league footballer and coach, wore a white tuxedo with a black bow tie and waistcoat.
Many of Toone's Lioness teammates were in attendance, including Alessia Russo, who served as maid of honor. Other guests included Mary Earps, Lauren Hemp, Keira Walsh, Taylor Hinds, Lucy Bronze, Beth Mead, Georgia Stanway, Millie Turner, Katie Zelem, and Jess Park.
The couple, who have been together for five years, met through mutual friends and a shared background in football. Bunney proposed to Toone in August of the previous year during a holiday in Ibiza. He presented her with a ring in front of an archway of red roses that featured a "Will you marry me?" sign.
Toone, who plays for Manchester United, announced their engagement on social media on August 4, 2025, writing "Forever… 04/08/25." Bunney, who has a son named Arlo from a previous relationship, is an assistant manager for Hyde United and also coaches at Toone's ET7 Academy.
Despite their shared passion for football, the couple have contrasting team allegiances: Bunney is a Manchester City supporter, while Toone plays for their rivals, Manchester United.
