Fox News has appointed Emily Compagno as a full-time co-host on "The Five," the network announced Monday. Compagno, previously a personality on "Outnumbered," will officially join the program on September 8.

She will be part of "The Five" alongside Greg Gutfeld, Dana Perino, and Jesse Watters. Harold Ford Jr. and Jessica Tarlov will continue to rotate in the show's liberal seat. Compagno will no longer be a regular on "Outnumbered," where a rotating personality will fill her position until a permanent replacement is named.

"Emily is a highly accomplished host whose energy and talent have made her a standout across Fox News Media, and we are thrilled to officially welcome her to the show," said Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott. Compagno expressed her honor at joining the program, calling it "the most fun show on television."

"The Five" averaged 3.6 million viewers and 322,000 viewers in the 25-to-54 demographic during the second quarter of 2026. The program has been the highest-rated in cable news for 19 consecutive quarters and marked its 15th anniversary in July.

Compagno joined Fox News as a contributor in 2018 and became a co-host of "Outnumbered" in 2021. She is also the author of the bestselling book "Under His Wings." Before her media career, Compagno practiced law, working in criminal defense and civil litigation, and held legal positions at the Social Security Administration and as a judicial extern. She also has international legal experience in South Africa and Brazil.

Her background includes a stint as captain of the Oakland Raiders' cheerleading squad and serving as an NFL ambassador. Compagno holds a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Washington and a law degree from the University of San Francisco School of Law.
