Emma Coronel, the wife of convicted Sinaloa Cartel leader Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzmán, is seeking answers after her main TikTok account was suspended. Coronel, who had amassed over 1.4 million followers on the platform since joining in August 2024, stated in a video posted to a new account that she was not given a reason for the suspension.

"They haven’t given me an explanation as to why, what happened, or what I supposedly did," Coronel said. She asserted that she was diligent in adhering to TikTok's guidelines.

"I’m very careful not to break the rules – I make sure to do everything right – and yet, they still blocked me," she added. Coronel, born in San Francisco and raised in Mexico, noted that she began using TikTok after her mental health professionals suggested she engage in activities outside her comfort zone to combat feelings of depression.

In addition to her TikTok presence, Coronel has recently started live-streaming on the platform Kick, where she has garnered approximately 24,000 followers. During a Kick stream on Monday, she alluded to seeking retribution if she learned who was responsible for reporting her TikTok account, though she stated she would not speculate or name names until an official explanation was provided.

Coronel served three years in prison for charges related to drug trafficking and money laundering. Her husband, El Chapo, is serving a life sentence in a federal prison in Colorado. Coronel has 15-year-old twin daughters with Guzmán. The Post has reached out to TikTok for comment.
