The first season of the Yellowstone spin-off ‘Dutton Ranch’ has concluded, with its finale episode, "El Padrino," airing on Friday, July 3. The episode featured significant plot developments, including a character’s death and a cartel kidnapping, leaving several storylines unresolved.

No new episodes aired on Friday, July 17. Instead, Paramount Network broadcasted "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" and "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince." Season 1 of ‘Dutton Ranch’ comprises nine episodes, with "El Padrino" serving as the season finale. Consequently, there will be no Episode 10 for the first season.

However, the series has been officially renewed for a second season by Paramount+. This renewal was announced on Wednesday, June 24, prior to the airing of the eighth episode. The series has garnered significant viewership, reportedly amassing 12.9 million global viewers in the week following its premiere, marking the largest original series launch in Paramount+ history. Its debut on Paramount Network also drew 2.9 million total viewers, becoming the biggest cable series premiere since 2023. It also ranked as the number one streaming series based on average audience for the week of May 11, according to Nielsen.

Filming for ‘Dutton Ranch’ Season 2 is slated to begin in early 2027. While an official premiere date has not yet been set, the writing room is reportedly beginning its work soon, with cast members expected to be involved in the process. If production stays on schedule, new episodes could potentially be released in 2027. Benjamin Cavell has been named the new showrunner for the upcoming season, taking over from Chad Feehan, who departed the series prior to its premiere.

The season finales of both ‘Dutton Ranch’ and the ‘Marshals’ series have set the stage for a potential crossover event. ‘Marshals’ Season 1 concluded with Kayce's son, Tate, in danger after unknowingly traveling to Texas with a Season 1 antagonist. ‘Dutton Ranch’ Season 1 ended with the cartel kidnapping Carter. Actors Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser have hinted at the possibility of a crossover, suggesting a reunion between characters Beth and Kayce could occur.

‘Dutton Ranch’ Season 1 is available for streaming on Paramount+. The service offers two subscription plans: Essential, an ad-supported plan at $8.99 per month, and Premium, an ad-free plan with Showtime titles and live CBS for $13.99 per month. Paramount+ can also be added to Amazon or Hulu accounts, or accessed through specific Sling TV packages.
