The Duchess of Edinburgh, 61, debuted a new, shorter bob haircut while attending the Groundswell Regenerative Agriculture Festival in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, on Wednesday. The royal's blonde tresses now skim her shoulders, a change from her longer style observed on June 24.
The Duchess attended the two-day festival, held at Lannock Farm in Weston, which aims to promote sustainable farming methods. She paired her new hairstyle with a denim midi skirt and a blue blouse from Penelope Chivers. The event comes as Britain braced for a potential third heatwave, with temperatures expected to exceed 30 degrees Celsius.
This is the first time the Duchess has been seen with such a short hairstyle. Previously, on Sunday, she wore a hat during the Sandringham Horse Driving Trials, making it difficult to discern her hairstyle at the time. She likely had her hair cut after returning from a visit to Jersey on June 24.
Her attendance at the agricultural festival follows a recent historic two-day visit to Jersey, where she became the first royal to visit Les Écréhous to support the island's commitment to sustainable food production. During her time in Jersey, she also visited EYECAN, a sight impairment charity, where she engaged with individuals and learned about their services. The Duchess has been a vocal advocate for blind and visually impaired people, a cause inspired by her daughter Lady Louise Windsor's past vision problems.
Also present at the Sandringham Horse Driving Trials on Sunday was Prince Andrew, who has made fewer public appearances since his arrest in February. He was seen leaving the estate in his Land Rover Defender after the Duchess of Edinburgh's event concluded. Prince Edward was also in attendance supporting his wife. The Sandringham trials, which began in 1982, were initiated by Prince Philip.
