A driver died early Thursday after a vehicle erupted in flames following a crash in Griffith Park, authorities confirmed.
The single-vehicle wreck occurred around 2:24 a.m. on Forest Lawn Drive, south of the 134 Freeway, according to the LAPD.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze, which also ignited a nearby tree and damaged a traffic signal. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Law enforcement officers, including a helicopter crew, searched the vicinity for any potential additional victims but found none. The cause of the crash is currently under investigation.
