Authorities have identified the driver of an SUV that collided with a Los Angeles Metro bus, resulting in two fatalities and six injuries, as 36-year-old Bailee Lynn Rios.

Rios was booked on suspicion of murder and is being held on $4.03 million bail, according to booking records. The collision occurred Tuesday near Nordhoff Street and De Soto Avenue in Chatsworth when the SUV T-boned the Metro bus, becoming lodged inside it.

The Los Angeles County Department of the Medical Examiner identified the deceased victims as 31-year-old Gage Weida and 46-year-old Daniel Castillo.

Police stated that Rios is suspected of reckless driving, running a red light, and driving under the influence. She was among those injured in the crash.

This incident occurred shortly before another tragedy in the same area, where an NBC helicopter covering the bus crash fell from the sky. Three people died in that separate incident: reporter Eliana Moreno, pilot George Marciniw, and pedestrian Edy Gutierrez Mejia.
