DraftKings Sportsbook and Delta have partnered to introduce "SkyPicks," a new in-flight sports prediction contest for eligible Delta passengers. This free-to-play game aims to provide an engaging sports experience for travelers, allowing them to make picks while flying.
SkyPicks is now available on all U.S. domestic Delta flights equipped with Wi-Fi. Passengers aged 21 and older can access the contest through the Delta Wi-Fi service on their personal devices. To participate, users must sign in with an existing DraftKings account or create a new one.
The contest, which launched on Wednesday, July 29, is set to begin with Major League Baseball (MLB) matchups and plans to incorporate National Football League (NFL) games later in the year. Daily contests will feature questions about games, such as who will score first, the winning team, and final score tiebreakers. Participants will be able to see their rankings on a leaderboard, with top scores earning Delta Gift Cards.
"At DraftKings, we believe interaction with sports shouldn’t begin and end with the game itself—it should extend to every moment fans care about," said Jeremy Elbaum, Chief Commercial Officer at DraftKings. "Collaborating with Delta gives us the opportunity to reimagine what sports engagement can look like while traveling, bringing innovative ways for fans to stay connected to the games they love—even when they’re in the air."
Ranjan Goswami, Chief Marketing and Product Officer at Delta, stated, "For many of our customers, that includes sports. SkyPicks brings that passion onboard in a fun, free-to-play way, giving SkyMiles Members another way to engage with the games and conversations they love while they fly."
Unlike traditional sports betting, SkyPicks involves no real money wagering, deposits, buy-ins, or financial risk. The partnership aims to enhance in-flight entertainment for sports enthusiasts. Delta currently offers live sports broadcasts and other entertainment options as part of its in-flight lineup. The airline may use SkyPicks as a foundation for integrating further prediction-based entertainment mid-flight.
