DoorDash announced Wednesday that it had deactivated a driver's account following accusations that the individual intentionally rerouted food deliveries intended for a Department of Homeland Security facility. The company stated that the alleged actions constitute "theft" and violate its community guidelines and platform access policy.

In a statement posted on X, formerly Twitter, DoorDash confirmed the deactivation, saying, "This Dasher's account has been deactivated." The company further explained, "Misusing the safety-unassign feature to intentionally cancel orders and redirect the food based on where it's going is theft and a violation of both our Community Guidelines and Platform Access Policy."

The situation gained traction after the social media account Libs of TikTok shared screenshots allegedly from a Buffalo-area driver. These posts indicated a pattern of canceling orders destined for a detention center in the driver's town and donating the food to a "free pantry." One post reportedly read, "Just dropped off another cancelled nazi DoorDash to my free pantry and was handed this large bag of m&m's in return. I love communism."

DoorDash's Trust & Safety Communications Manager, Michelle Babin, confirmed to Fox News Digital that the driver's account was deactivated and the individual no longer has access to the platform. Babin emphasized that DoorDash enforces its policies consistently, stating, "Anyone who does not meet our standards or whose behavior violates our policies may be removed from our platform."

She also clarified that Dashers are independent contractors and not employees of DoorDash.

The Department of Homeland Security was reached out to for comment by Fox News Digital.
