Donald Trump made an appearance at his Bedminster, New Jersey golf course on Sunday, August 9, 2026, to attend the final round of the LIV Golf New York tournament.
Trump was seen riding in a golf cart with legendary golfer Gary Player, observing the action on the course. He also dismounted the cart to walk onto a tee box, waving to fans. This was Trump's second day at the event, having arrived on Friday evening. His daughter, Ivanka Trump, was with him on Saturday. The tournament took place amidst a thunderstorm that affected the Northeastern United States upon Trump's arrival.
LIV Golf has frequently utilized courses owned by Trump's company. Earlier in 2026, the tour held an event at Trump National Golf Club in Washington, D.C., and has previously hosted an event in Miami at the Trump National Doral's Blue Monster course.
Trump has previously expressed support for the LIV Golf tour and has attempted to mediate the conflict between LIV Golf and the PGA Tour. In April, he stated his belief that golfers from both tours should compete against each other, emphasizing the desire to see top players from each circuit go head-to-head. He noted that the Masters tournament was particularly compelling because it featured a full field of elite players.
LIV Golf, which was previously backed by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF), announced in early 2026 that the PIF would cease financial support after the current season. However, LIV Golf announced earlier this week that it had secured funding for the 2027 season, though specific details have not been disclosed.
