England has named Aneurin Donald and Henry Crocombe, both uncapped players, in their squads for the upcoming white-ball series against Sri Lanka.

Donald, an opening batter, has been included in the 16-player squad for the T20 series. Seamer Crocombe has earned a spot in the 16-man lineup for the one-day internationals.

England men's national selector Marcus North stated that both players are "two promising players who have earned their places on the back of impressive performances in domestic cricket." North added that Donald has had an "exceptional season" for Derbyshire in the Vitality Blast and also with Trent Rockets in The Hundred, while Crocombe is a player the selectors have been observing throughout the summer.

Meanwhile, all-rounder Jacob Bethell underwent successful knee surgery and is targeting England's white-ball series against Australia in November for his return. Durham seamer Brydon Carse was not selected for either squad. Carse was previously dropped for the second Test against Pakistan following an incident outside a Derby nightclub on August 22.
