Devan Kaney is moving to Chicago to cover the NFL after previously serving as the Eagles sideline reporter for WIP. Kaney announced Tuesday on X that she will be a Bears reporter for Fox 32 news in Chicago.
Kaney's announcement follows her departure from WIP, where she had worked since 2022. She was a co-host on the station's morning talk show before transitioning to her sideline role in 2024, succeeding Howard Eskin. Kaney was part of layoffs conducted by parent company Audacy in April.
"I had a blast working at WIP and sincerely enjoyed my time there," Kaney told the Philadelphia Inquirer earlier this year. "But as the old saying goes, when one door closes, another opens."
In addition to her role at WIP, Kaney also worked as an anchor for Fox 29 in Philadelphia since 2023. She stated that her final sportscast at Fox 29 occurred the previous week. Kaney expressed gratitude for her supporters during her recent career transition.
"Last week was my final sportscast at [Fox 29 Philadelphia]," Kaney wrote on X after leaving the station. "I’m so excited to share what’s next for me, but first I have to shoutout my incredible friends, family, and colleagues who have been so supportive over the last few months as I navigated my next career move."
She also noted her continued involvement with her Phillies podcast, "Werth Talking About."
Kaney will begin covering the Bears following their 2025 season, in which the team finished 11-6 and reached the Divisional Round. The team saw significant development from quarterback Caleb Williams in his second year, and head coach Ben Johnson established a winning culture.
The Bears are scheduled to begin their 2026 season on September 13 against the Panthers.
