An Albanian national, who has been deported from the UK twice for burglary, is reportedly flaunting his wealth on social media after allegedly re-entering the country. Dorian Puka, 29, posted videos on Instagram appearing to show him feeding wads of British banknotes to his dogs and showcasing a lavish lifestyle.
Puka was first jailed over a decade ago for attempted burglary and was deported in 2017. Within a year, he had returned to the UK and committed further break-ins, leading to another prison sentence and subsequent deportation in March 2020. He is alleged to have returned to the UK again by January 2021, traveling via continental Europe.
Social media posts attributed to Puka include him driving luxury vehicles such as Ferraris and a Lamborghini Urus, wearing designer clothing, and dining at expensive restaurants. One widely circulated video shows him handing banknotes to his pitbull and pug. Another video captured him with what appears to be a big cat cub in a harness inside a vehicle.
While incarcerated, Puka reportedly used a smuggled phone to post images with other inmates, including those associated with organized crime groups. He allegedly wrote captions indicating a desire to move from prison to a VIP lifestyle.
The Home Office has stated that Puka is a "known foreign national offender" and that efforts are underway to remove him. "We are doing everything in our power to ensure they are removed as soon as possible," a spokesperson said. "While there are ongoing legal proceedings, we cannot comment further." The department also noted that nearly 10,000 foreign national offenders have been removed under the current government.
Despite his criminal record and deportation orders, Puka has remained in the UK for over three years due to ongoing asylum claims and legal challenges, a situation described as a "loophole." He has reportedly appealed against the rejection of his asylum claim, which would allow for his removal.
Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood is reportedly working to change laws to make it more difficult for foreign criminals to use human rights legislation to avoid deportation, while also streamlining the appeals system for faster removal of offenders.
Previously, Puka was reportedly tracked to the Carbis Bay Hotel in Cornwall, a venue that hosted world leaders for the 2021 G7 summit. During an encounter with a reporter, he stated that the Home Office was aware of his whereabouts and that he wore an electronic tag. He also questioned why he was being disturbed, stating, "I have problems in my home country."
Puka's continued presence in the UK, despite his criminal history and inability to work legally, has been documented through social media posts showcasing his expensive purchases, including a Patek Philippe watch and various luxury cars such as Porsches, Mercedes, Bentleys, and BMWs, alongside visits to shisha bars.
