A dental nurse has been banned from driving for one year after pulling into traffic without stopping and crashing her Mercedes into a couple on a motorbike. Halle Bae Osborne-Holland, 22, admitted to two counts of causing serious injury by careless driving.

The collision occurred in August of the previous year in Swanley, Kent. Dashcam footage showed Osborne-Holland turning her car into a major road instead of waiting at the junction for a clear entrance. The motorbike carrying Christopher Collins, 22, and Rebecca Good, 21, crashed into Osborne-Holland's vehicle, sending the pair airborne.

Both individuals sustained serious injuries. Rebecca Good, a student, was trapped under the car until bystanders lifted it. She was airlifted to a London hospital, where she received specialist treatment for a fractured thigh bone, an injury that required splints and caused her to defer her university course for a year.

Christopher Collins was taken to the same hospital by ambulance. He suffered a significant hematoma, or blood clot, in one of his legs, which prevented him from working for an extended period. Collins has undergone three surgeries to drain the pooled blood.

At Medway Magistrates' Court, a victim impact statement from Collins was read by the prosecutor. In the statement, Collins described the loss of confidence he experienced, stating, "I no longer have a bike and feel a prisoner in my own home." He also noted being off work for a month and experiencing sleep disturbances.

In court, the prosecutor noted that Osborne-Holland "didn't take a second to stop when she left the forecourt" and "didn't think of anyone; they could be dead today."

In addition to the driving ban, Osborne-Holland was placed on a 12-month community order requiring 100 hours of unpaid work. She was also ordered to pay a £114 victim surcharge and £85 in court costs.
