Former Olympian Denise Lewis, 53, has shared insights into her balanced diet and fitness regimen, debunking the notion that she subsists solely on salads. Lewis, who recently garnered attention for a lingerie campaign, detailed her approach to maintaining her physique in a series of social media posts.

Lewis begins her day with matcha tea made with almond milk, opting against coffee. Her breakfast often consists of oats with nutmeg, grapes, and banana, or scrambled eggs with mushrooms when she desires more protein. She supplements this with a plant-based chocolate and peanut protein shake, stating her goal is maintenance rather than bulking up.

"Liquid is life," Lewis declared, underscoring the importance of hydration. She also takes various supplements, including liquid iron for fatigue, vitamin D, selenium, B complex, and collagen, to support overall well-being and skin health.

For lunch, Lewis typically opts for a simple salad paired with a store-bought quiche or flan. Her dinners are described as nutritious and quick to prepare, often featuring grilled salmon served with pre-packaged lentils or rice.

Lewis also advocates for a brief, accessible workout routine that can be performed anywhere. Her 10-minute routine includes exercises such as press-ups and planks, aimed at maintaining strength as one ages.

These revelations are part of Lewis's "no filter" series on Instagram, where she aims to share a more personal side of her life beyond her athletic achievements. She stated her intention to showcase her recipes, workouts, family life, and hobbies, offering viewers an unfiltered look at her life at 53. The series follows her split from her husband of 17 years, Steve Finan, a decision they announced in November, stating it was made with mutual respect and care.

Lewis, who won gold for Great Britain in the heptathlon at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, has previously spoken about entering a "second act" of her life, feeling more secure and energized. This shift in perspective contributed to her confidence in participating in her first lingerie shoot, which she described as a statement on confidence not being age-dependent.
