Instagram model Demi Rose Mawby, who rose to fame as one of the platform's original "It Girls," has stepped away from the spotlight to lead a more private life in Ibiza. The British-born model, who amassed nearly 18 million followers, abruptly ceased posting on social media in early 2023, sparking speculation among her fans.

Sources indicate that Mawby's withdrawal from public life was significantly influenced by the deaths of her parents. Her father passed away from cancer in October 2018, followed by her mother eight months later after a prolonged health struggle. Mawby, who had been her mother's primary caregiver, described feeling "angry, sad, bitter and lonely" in the aftermath of their deaths. She reportedly turned to spirituality to cope with her grief.

Mawby, now 31, resides in a quiet village on Ibiza, focusing on a lifestyle that includes yoga, meditation, and assisting local animal shelters with stray cats. A tarot card reader told the Daily Mail that Mawby is not yet ready to discuss her time away from social media. Her last Instagram post, from February 2023, was shared from the Dendera Temple in Egypt and reflected on themes of "infinite inspiration" and healing.

Before her social media hiatus, Mawby gained popularity through platforms like MySpace and magazines such as "FHM" and "Nuts." She also had brief stints in the public eye, appearing in DJ Khaled's 2015 music video "How Many Times" and reportedly having a relationship with rapper Tyga in 2016.

While Mawby has been offline for an extended period, her representative has indicated that she may eventually return to social media.
