MTV personality Davis Mallory has publicly introduced his new girlfriend, Rachel Vaughan, approximately one year after announcing a personal shift away from identifying as gay. Mallory, 43, known for his appearances on "The Real World: Denver" and "The Challenge," shared images of himself and Vaughan on social media, depicting them in various scenic locations.
In an Instagram post on Sunday, Mallory captioned a carousel of photos, "It's crazy what love can do. I love you @rachelevaughanaa." He also shared a video featuring Vaughan with the caption, "Thankful for new memories that someday turn to old photographs."
According to TMZ, Mallory and Vaughan met in 2022 while he was DJing at a wedding. Their relationship developed after they traveled together as friends, and they began dating in August, though they do not live together.
Vaughan also posted about their relationship, sharing photos and recounting their first meeting. "First day I met Davis in the middle of the ocean we pet wild horses and hitchhiked up the valley," she reportedly wrote.
Mallory's public statements about his sexuality began in 2025, when he shared a video from a church service stating that he no longer identified as gay. He credited a religious awakening, saying, "God really pulled [him] out of that lifestyle a year ago." At the time, he explained that he had lived as a gay man for approximately 20 years and came out on "The Real World: Denver," but felt God had intervened in his life through dreams and visions that depicted spiritual warfare and the consequences of sin.
Mallory's journey has been a public one since his debut on "The Real World" in 2006. He later competed in three seasons of "The Challenge." In past interviews, including with Out Magazine in 2018, Mallory discussed his experiences coming out and his desire to be a positive representation for gay men. He also spoke about exploring the intersection of his homosexuality and his Christian faith, at one point believing one could be both gay and Christian. He stated he spent time researching biblical perspectives on homosexuality and debated religious teachers on the subject.
