Democrat David Crowley won the election for governor of Wisconsin on Tuesday, defeating Republican Tom Tiffany. Crowley will be the first Black governor in Wisconsin's history.
Crowley previously served in the Wisconsin Legislature and has held the position of top elected official in Milwaukee County since 2020. His victory ends a streak of Republican leadership in the governor's office, marking the first time in the state's 178-year history that a Democrat will hold the position for more than eight consecutive years.
