David Beckham made an appearance at Wimbledon on Monday, marking his annual tradition of attending the tournament with his mother, Sandra. The pair were seated in the prestigious Royal Box on the opening day of the championships.
Beckham, who had recently returned from watching England's World Cup match in New Jersey, opted for a dapper grey suit for the occasion. Seated alongside them were notable figures including Mary Berry. In the row behind were actor Mark Rylance, Alexandra Armstrong, and opera singer Katherine Jenkins.
While Beckham and his mother enjoyed the VIP experience, his son Romeo and his girlfriend Kim Turnbull were also present at the event but were seated in general stands. Romeo wore a brown suit with a white T-shirt, and Turnbull sported a white dress.
Other celebrities in attendance included Tess Daly, who drew attention for continuing to wear her wedding and engagement rings despite announcing her separation from husband Vernon Kay. Amanda Holden also made an appearance, as did Maura Higgins, who donned a tennis-inspired outfit with heels featuring pierced tennis balls, a style reminiscent of Zendaya's promotional looks for "Challengers."
Opera singer Katherine Jenkins, known for her white attire on the tournament's launch day, was seen with her husband Andrew Levitas. Pixie Lott and her husband Oliver Cheshire were also among the guests, as were Katherine Ryan and her husband Bobby Koostra. Actress Isla Fisher shared photos on social media before arriving at the venue.
Many attendees embraced the traditional white dress code for Wimbledon's opening day, with Zara Tindall, Ronan and Storm Keating, and Niall Horan and his girlfriend Amelia Woolley also observed. Carol Kirkwood, a former weather presenter for BBC's Wimbledon coverage, attended as a guest for the first time after stepping down from her role.
Meanwhile, the famous Wimbledon queue saw an overwhelming turnout, with an estimated 10,000 people by 8:30 a.m. Many hopefuls were disappointed by the last-minute withdrawal of British player Emma Raducanu due to a stress fracture.
The tournament's opening matches are set to feature defending champion Jannik Sinner against Miomir Kecmanović, Aryna Sabalenka against Teodora Kostovic, and Novak Djokovic against Wu Yibing.
