Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen has publicly expressed her exasperation with receiving unsolicited advice regarding her physical appearance, particularly from medical professionals.

Frederiksen, 48, stated on Instagram that upon returning from a trip to Ukraine, where she experienced air raid sirens, she received a message from a plastic surgeon offering to address a mark on her nose. She noted that such comments about her appearance, including criticisms of her teeth, hair, and suggestions for cosmetic procedures like Botox, are frequent.

The prime minister shared a screenshot of the surgeon's message on Instagram, though she did not name the individual. She included her response: "Oh no. I’m happy with my body — I really don’t need a male plastic surgeon to have an opinion about it!"

As Denmark's second female prime minister and a member of the Social Democrats, Frederiksen is in her third term, making her one of Europe's most experienced leaders. She has led the European Union and NATO member nation since mid-2019. Her political priorities have included maintaining a firm stance against former U.S. President Donald Trump's ambitions for Greenland and continuing support for Ukraine.

On Instagram, Frederiksen emphasized that she does not comment on others' looks and is content with her own body as she approaches 50. She urged those who wish to contact her to focus on more substantive topics rather than her physical features.

The prime minister described the unsolicited beauty tips as "indignant" and extended a message of solidarity to others who face similar comments about perceived imperfections.
